Yay! My photo Won!

Didn't want to jinx it by mentioning it beforehand but I entered a number of photos into our company's calendar photo contest, and while I've won one of the four spots every year so far in the four years since its inception, I'm guessing my good fortune is more from a lack of entries rather than pure talent.

The picture they selected was the Sachs Bridge photo (see previous post) I just took on Sept 14th in Gettysburg. I have been nervous about the contest since last year they opened it up that you could submit photos taken by friends or family as long as it was properly credited. Yippee...I'll get a $100 gift card.

And They Called it Puppy Love...

5 months ago, we put our Jack Russell brother/sister duo down. Rocco of late stage renal failure and Pippi of a fast growing and huge breast tumor.

Shortly after that we bought ourselves some well deserved new plush carpeting - the old stuff was nearly 20 years old so we thought we'd enjoy that for a few years before we replaced the jacks. Apparently we couldn't wait that long.

This sweet guy is 11 weeks old and has a great personality. Never on a leash before but after the initial five minutes he took to it like a charm and likes to stick close by. He's coming out of his shell some so as long as we keep the playing low key we hope to have another well behaved buddy. Hubby named him for his lanky physique and it seems to suit him. Looks like we're going to be very busy the next couple of weeks!

Busy as a Bee!

While on recovery from surgery, I have made good use of the time from the point when I no longer felt like an old lady hobbling around bent over.   And since I have been as busy as a bee, I'll share what is probably my all time favorite picture that I've ever taken - LOVE that macro setting!

Anyway, I will soon (as soon as I replace the batteries in my camera) post progress pics of the numerous projects I have going.   After all, it IS a Halloween Artists' busy season!
